Chakra - Base & Sacral

Goldstone is said to be the stone of 'ambition' and is thought to assist in achieving goals.

While not gold or a stone, it does have associations with healing and can be dated back to the 1700s where it was first produced in Venice by the Venetian glass crafter, Vincenzo Miotti who was from Murano.

Goldstone is completely man-made and can not be found anywhere in nature. The sparkle effect in this beautiful crystal are copper flecks set in glass.

Goldstone is an excellent stone to have with you when embarking on a new journey. It is a protector stone, perfect for repelling unwanted energies.

History

There is an urban legend that says Goldstone was invented accidently by monks in the 1600s after accidentally spilling copper shavings into a vat of melted glass. For this reason it is sometimes referred to as monkstone or monk's gold. However, the modern day Goldstone that we refer to has been accredited to Vincenzo Miotti, an Italian glass maker from Murano. Murano has a long history associated with glass making.

Goldstone comes in various colours. The most familiar is the red-brown, but it also comes in blue, purple, and green colours.
