Chakra - Base & Sacral

Dalmatian Jasper, also known as Dalmatian Stone, has a slow vibrational energy and works best over the long term. Known for its protective and healing properties its natural colour is pale grey, cream or beige-brown with black or brown spots of iron oxide, tourmaline, or other mineral inclusions that resemble the coat of a Dalmatian breed of dog. This stone also comes in many beautiful dyed colours including blue, red and yellow.

Dalmatian Jasper appeals to the child within, fortifying the spirit and encouraging a sense of playfulness. It has a grounding energy, supportive of family and loyalty, and is great for children and animals having a calming effect.

History

Dalmatian Stone, or Dalmatian Jasper, isn't actually a jasper at all. Jasper has a conchoidal fracture and Dalmatian stone is much softer. It is typically found and mined in Chihuahua, Mexico and is an igneous microcrystalline quartz with a mixture of other minerals creating the speckled look. The distinctive gemstone was named "Dalmatian" due to its likeness to the breed of dog. The black spots are believed to suck up negative or chaotic energy to encourage a good night's sleep.
