Rose Quartz

Chakra - Heart

Known as one of the beauty stones, Rose Quartz helps promote greater love of beauty in oneself and others and also enhances calm and peace. In short, it seems to have a strong effect on emotional health and well-being.

It's name is derived from its soft rose colour, which ranges from very pale pink to deep reddish-pink. The colour of this semi-precious stone is very stable and will not fade in direct sunlight or heat.

History

Beads made of Rose Quartz have been found dating back to 7000 BC in ancient Mesopotamia. Ancient Egyptians used Rose Quartz in funerary masks and both the Egyptians and Romans added powdered Rose Quartz to cosmetics to prevent wrinkles and encourage a good complexion.
